Autism Spectrum Therapies ("AST"), one of the largest and most respected autism services organizations in the county, is looking for an exceptional ABA professional to join our team as a Lead Technician (LT).  This position is ideal for an experienced candidate ready to build their supervision skills while working toward becoming a BCBA.

Responsibilities

 A LT is assigned to a clinical team under the supervision of a BCBA and is responsible for assisting the BCBA with fulfilling certain supervisory duties. The LT may also provide direct intervention services as part of their position. 

 

In-Field Support

  • Support Behavior Technicians (BTs) during direct ABA therapy sessions
  • Monitor data collection in real time to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Analyze client data and graphs to monitor progress and identify trends
  • Support transitions during client drop-off and pick-up times
  • Collaborate closely with BCBAs, families, and other professionals (e.g., speech therapists)
  • Help Behavior Technicians and clients follow daily schedules and adhere to center expectations
  • Monitor the cancellation line as needed and help manage scheduling logistics
  • Assist in the development of center activities

Training/Meetings

  • The LTs will be required to complete supervisor training.
  • The LTs will be required to meet as a cohort one time per month with Clinical Manager/Clinical Director for training/coaching on the following topics:
    • Report writing; practice advice and coaching
    • Parent education
    • Programming
    • Professionalism
    • How to support BTs that need more clinical professional development

Productivity Expectations

  • Provide Field Supervision/Direct Intervention with the expectation almost exclusively in afternoon and evening timeslots
  • LTs will be expected to deliver 20 hours of billable service (direct services)
  • LTs will be paid up to 20 hours of non-billable time.
  • All of the LT’s hours will be paid at the direct rate, with the exception of drive time

Qualifications

  • Experienced BT with 1-2 years’ experience
  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent Required
  • Expected to be available between the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
  • Selection of LTs will be made by the Managing Clinical Sup and Clinical Director
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Strong time management skills and follow-through
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of ABA principles and data collection methods
  • Excellent communication, organization, time management, and leadership skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Compassionate, proactive, creative and highly dependable
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs
